Properties of Barium Chromate CAS 10294-40-3
There are two types of barium chrome yellow, one is barium chromate [CaCrO4], the other is barium potassium chromate, which is a compound salt of barium chromate and potassium chromate, with the chemical formula BaK2(CrO4)2 or BaCrO4·K2CrO4. Barium chromate is a milk-yellow powder, soluble in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, with very low tinting strength. The international standard code for barium chromate is ISO-2068-1972, which requires barium oxide content not less than 56% and chromium trioxide content not less than 36.5%.
Barium potassium chromate is a lemon yellow powder. It has a certain degree of water solubility due to its potassium chromate content. The relative density is 3.65, the refractive index is 1.9, the oil absorption is 11.6%, and the apparent specific volume is 300g/L.
